Small 4-way joystick
(1/2) > >>
AE35:

Hi all!

My wife loves playing Lady Bug and Pengo, but she has problems playing them with our 8 way joysticks. I know she would rather play them using the arrows on a PC keyboard.

So, I thought about getting a really good and small(especially
footprint) joystick that is four way only. Like the pac-man one, where you can 'slide' over the corners.

What would you recommend?

Thanks,

Nicholas

l got my hands on the wico 4way leaf switch joystick.  "Fantastic".
No hearing of clicky microswitches, like old style joystick. l bought from here:

he is great to deal with. he is located in Canada, and he shipped mine to Australia.

l hope this helps you
Cheers

I would second the Wico 4-Way, although the footprint may be bigger than  you would like.

Also second NICADE as a seller --- have bought a number of things from him in the past -- class act all the way.

Cheers.

Nintendo joysticks are about as small as you will get. They are also probably the toughest joysticks ever made too, though not everyone likes their "feel". Because they pretty much never wear out; other than cosmetic wear and tear, an old well-used one will be in as sound shape mechanically as an NOS one. I like them just fine in regard to feel, provided they are clean internally and lubricated with a light oil rather than heavy grease. You would want one with a 4 way restrictor plate obviously, like from a Donkey Kong or Punch-Out machine.
