I'm pretty sure that depends on your Operationg System and not the Mame version. If I'm right about that, any OS that can use USB controllers will be able to use them in Mame.
Hopefully someone can pop in here and confirm or deny my guess though.

Just thought I'd throw this out there just in case...mame doesn't run snes roms, you'd need a snes emulator to do that.

OK thanks for clearing that up. i get it now, MAME for only arcade roms. i need ZSNES for snes roms. now what frontend do i use to tie MAME with ZSNES, that is have one frontend from where i can select games from eith MAME or ZSNES?

I use one called MameWah..... very customizable, perfect for use in cabinets and supports any command line emulators.... but it is not the most user friendly to setup though....
I have all the .ini configuration files that I use if ya need them...
PS: I am running (among other emus) MAME and ZSNES from MameWah on a Windows 98 PC.... I just got a USB gamepad for it and am about to try it out tonite!!!

dude tell me how that works. I'm intrested in running both those emulators. Are you running any NES emulators?
