Alright guys I am pretty new to everything so I was hoping you guys could help me out. I am trying to finish this by christmas... so any help will be great. Let me start by saying that I am using mame32 & mamewah as my front end. Currently the PC and the control panel work just fine in mamewah and I can play games. The problems I am having is with the trackball and the games list. If I double click mame32 there is a little window that comes up with a bunch of different folders of sorted roms that I have payed for. One of these folders is called trackball, another is called available games. I would like mamewah to show the name of the game like it does in mame32's gui. Anotherwords, mame32 shows Wonder 3(japan version) and mamewah shows WNDR3 (which is the rom name) I have tried different settings to no avail.. Lastly, if I double click 720 in the trackball folder my game launches and I am able to play 720 using the trackball... If I start 720 from Mamewah the trackball does not work. Any ideas? See below for my mame.ini from mamewah, and mamewah.ini Let me know if you need anything else. I am running windows XP Pro. What exactly is it you're wanting. You're asking about 5 questions in one here and no one knows where to begin to answer you. Do you want long file names? A trackball folder? What exactly is it you want. 1st thing, and I hope this answers it, is to make your list generation rom_folder_vs_listxml (mamewah's default for mame). |

I know I was asking about 5 questions :( First thing is first, The trackball does not work within MAMEWAH, it only works within MAME32 itself (when I double click the game name from mame32 gui). |

mamewah is made to kill the mouse! You're not going to get a trackball in mamewah. I assume you're using command line mame for use in mamewah. To activate the mouse/trackball within commandline mame, go to your mame config file (c:/mame/mame.ini or similiar) and set mouse to 1. You need to understand that mamewah is merely a front end. It lists games and you select them with the joystick and start keys. That's it. Everything game related is still controlled through your mame config files as before. |

That makes perfect sense Brophog, but when I set mame gui to use mouse as input and apply the changes, the mouse would work in the mame32 games (when I double clicked the games from the gui) but not through mamewah. What I mean is that when i select my game IN MAMEWAH, and start to play lets say 720... i can not get the trackball to work. I will go try changing the mame config file to set mouse to 1 and let you know what happened. |
