Hey, is there like a way to find out what kind of stuff will be for auction before the actual auction happens?

I think earliest buyers can find out is at the preview.  Im not sure, but I think SuperAuctions doesnt know what they are selling until the night before, I may be wrong though.

You know when they open the doors. Last time they didn't even have a list. You had to find a piece of scrap paper and pen and start writing.

You buy yours local or you have em shipped?  Is shipping on those things as bad as a normal arcade cab?

Edit: I just realized this post is making an assumption, are those your candy cabs?

I did not see any like this at the last one. But they have all types. I saw everything from a little caberet Galaga all the way up to the full sized Star Wars Trilogy mondo friggin machine. There were close to 75 yards of games 3 rows thick. I would assume that there would be the possibility of it being there. Just bring an extension cord.

I will try to get pix and prices. the only hold up is that last time they were really huffy about anyone taking pictures. It is not like there are major trade secrets showing huge lines of cabs. I would think that they would want people taking pictures as it would draw interest in their business if they were published somewhere.

Yeah, I was at the last one, I picked up a neo geo 4 slot for a good price.  I brought a camera, but like every 15 minutes during the preview the guy said "no pictures!", so they are pretty adamant about it.

I'm hopin the guy from BilLabs will be there again, I want to see their new autosync monitor.

Hey were the one with the NEO Geo with the tape all over the cart holder. You thought it was a 2 but it was a 4? I won the Defender that was off to the left.

Actually, it was painted completely black. I used goof off and got off all the paint on the sides and I now have full defender art. A little scratched, but it's the real deal.

Wish I'd known / seen this a little sooner - a friend is getting married on the 17th though, so I'll be going in the opposite direction from Lakewood (not that I could afford to buy anything!!).

Yeah thats me! :)  I am still very happy with my 4 slot, I had to replace a flyback on the monitor, but has been running beautifully since then.    That was my first auction.  You lookin for anything particular on saturday?

I will be armed with a very little sum of money. If there is some freak of nature, I will go home with something, but, I doubt it. I have a Black Knight that I need to replace the main board on so any new money has to go to that. What about your self?

BTW have you looked on e-bay for carts. They have all sorts for not a whole lot. There was a guy reciently selling a whole bunch, claiming that they all worked, and they were going for about 15 to 35 each.

Im really goin to just hang out and like you, if some project cab goes for next to nothin i might take it home.  i have money set aside for a candy cab, but im not holdin my breath.   I think I will have to wait a while before i get one of those.

As for eBay, yes, I have already got a collection going, im up to 12 carts.  There are a lot of obscure japanese puzzle games for the neo geo that are loads of fun.  Aside from the well known bust a move, there's magical drop 2, puyo pop fever, and twinkle star sprites, I plan on getting these eventually, they are great.

BTW, just curious, how did u know about my neo geo?  did we talk, and i just dont remember?

Yeah, you were still in the afterglow of the auction. You opened up the coin door and showed me the 4 slot. I asked about the tape. BTW what was the tape for?

There is a weird buzz when the time come to start bidding on the cab you have been waiting for. I got almost a ringing in my ears and got really tunnel vision.

I guess the tape was just to secure the carts in transit, dont know why they put tape over the 2 slots they werent using though, to keep the dust out maybe.

Well, we should meetup somehow, I will be the big goofy guy with red hair and glasses.  I remember talking to you but dont remember what you looked like.  Oh well, my name is Travis.  Hopefully I'lll catch you there.

Here are some pictures of the Auction. There was a ton of junk today. There was one row of pretty nice a short second row that was somewhat ok (minus one very nice Marble Madness.)
Then a huge row of crap machines. I will post the #1 worst machine below. There was one pacman machine that was just plain UGLY. There was close to 1 inch of some sort of feces animal inside.(Really Rude). I met up with TravisT and a friend of his. They took off with a SEGA  Holosseum game for $100. It had some issues with the coin door, but a killer deal none the less. I really wanted the Marble Madness but it went too high. Someone had put in a red and blue translusient track balls that had been lit. Really cool touch.

Ugly row and the number 1 ugliest cabinet - MERCS. It seemed to be propped up with the 2 surrounding cabs. If someone would have sneezed it would have fallen into a hundred pieces.

After taking several pictures, I got caught. Uhhhh no pictures sir. Later I found a cabinet with a marquee that was made on an ink jet. They had taken several marquees and printed them on normal printer paper and taped them together. I wanted the picture so I pulled out my phone to um make a phone call... Yeah that's it... a phone call.

Well, I finally got the SEGA HOLO home, not hard just time consuming, would you believe it comes apart in like 7 pieces.  And wouldnt you know it, the crap for brains i paid to move it cracked the parabloic reflective plastic!  I was irate.  :| Anyway, here are my plans, clean it up, and play the game till im sick of it, then I want to try out MAMEHOLO, see how mame games look as a "hologram".  Basically all it is is a TV with the signal mirrored and upside down, with only the characters drawn, then using mirrors, it tricks your eye.  Im wondering if MAME can mirror and flip the image, then disable the BG pallete.  More info and pics to come :).

I was the one who bought that MERC cabinet.  I got it bundled with the lethal enforcers that was right next to it, which was also a piece of crap, for $5 for both.  We broke the top part off the MERCS cabinet and was just careful with the monitor, I haven't gotten to test it out yet to see if anything worked.

Wow you will have to let us know if at least the monitor works. I was about an inch away from  bidding when the guy looked at me and said give me a buck for the MERCs. I was trying to figure out how to get it out of there.

Ya gotta wonder what happened to it. It looks like it fell off the back end of the truck.
