Mag-Stik Good Enough to Skip Dedicated 4-Way
(1/2) > >>
sharkus:
I was originally planning on having a dedicated 4-way joystick on my panel.  I then came across the Mag-Stik and Mag-Stik Plus joysticks (I ordered one of each).

I would be great to use the Mag-Stik Plus as the player 1 joystick and switch it between 8 way and 4 way as needed.  (Player two will use the normal Mag-Stik so if I want 2 players using 4-way I can switch that one by flipping the switch under the panel).

Has anyone tried out these joysticks yet?  Do they work well enough in 4-way mode were I can eliminate the dedicated 4-way?

Try them out and let us know! The mag-stik just replaced the t-stik so none of us really have much of an idea.

Well the T-sticks worked great as 4 / 8 way sticks. I think the main point of discussion was never about their suitability as a 4 / 8 way stick. Some people preferred some of the longer throw of other available sticks. I for one, really liked my t-sticks. From what Andy Warne said, they're almost identical, except for the magnet centering.

If this is what's in the new Tekken 5 machines, then I've used them.  They are extremely light-action, and the throw is pretty decent - comparable to a Happ Competition stick.
mahuti:
Andy said the action is short. So the throw's not "decent" if you mean, more than short. If you mean decent as in "it feels fine" that's probably the case.
