DrewKaree:
You're gonna have a big honkin' hole on the top if I'm following what you're saying about putting the washers underneath the MDF

c64rulez:
Yeah. You follow correctly. Still, the dustwasher retains it's function, just under the hood.
I'm talking practical issues here. (That hole is something I need to adjust to mentally...)

Xiaou2:

In my arcade manager days, I always popped the dust cover on top for best protection.   I can see why you wouldnt want to cover the art up though.. so...

 About the hole...

You could also cut out clear plexi dust covers for the top of the cp.   This would keep
fingers from getting pinched in between the hole and the joystick.

Also, sand, then paint the inside of the hole black, so that you do not see the ugly wood color inside  : )

c64rulez:
plexi dustwashers sounds fine to me.
I also remember some cars (twenty or so years ago) had some kind of
a leather "blanket" surrounding the gear shaft, but to clone that would
be far fetched ...

Thank you

c64rulez:
Got nothing to do till that cp artwork gets printed in a few days, so I decided to come up
with some more designs for the marquee.
The side artwork would have to wait for after I'll be done with then cp wiring.
These are, of course, just simple layouts to be used as a guideline in creating the
real thing.
