babydickonboard:

put it on a channel, the while the t.v. is on, unplug it from the outlet, then plug it back in.  you want it to turn back on and keep its channel without you having to push the power button agian.

Demon-Seed:

ah ok thats good advise..and how to tell if it will power on with a external button on?? or powere bar?

thx

Well, if you unplug it while it is turned on, and it automatically turns back on when you plug it back in, then that means it would work with a power strip or external power button.

Turnning the strip off is the the same thing as unplugging the TV, so the behavior you observe when testing the display in the store should carry over the same to that situation.
