Replacing a Arcade monitor with a PC monitor
« on: August 08, 2006, 03:08:23 pm »
Didnt really get a solid answer from searching but I am NOT looking to hook this up to a PC.  I have a dedicated system 16 machine with no monitor.  I also have a 21" computer monitor collecting dust.   Since the tube sizes are almost exact can it be done and save myself a few bucks?

eBay Link

Considering the price (and that one is cheaper than other places selling them for $141), you might be better off just springing for a new arcade monitor; something like a Happ Vision Pro for around $150.

You don't want to use a pc monitor anyway.  The dot pitch is different and thus the pixels won't get blended properly.

That's a good price.

The full price on the Australian site where they get sold is $140 US

This is good advice. Even if you get or build a 15Khz->31Khz converter, the game will look significantly different on a Pc monitor. Unless its an old, blurry low-dot-pitch 21" pc monitor of course....
