| Question about Jamma RGB to TV |
| (1/2) > >> |
| ArcadEd:
I know there are encoders out there to go from RGB to Composite and S-Video. Neither offer the same quality of having a true RGB monitor. My question is, since Component uses Red, Green Blue, has there been any research done on getting a jamma board working on a TV with Component? Thanks, I know it's a long shot as I have googled, but there are some bright people around here :). |

Component doesn't use red, green, and blue. It's just the connectors that are color-coded with those colors. The actual signals are red, blue, and brightness, so it's basically S-video with better color. |

Thanks Samstag. I had a feeling it wasn't that easy or it would have been done already. Appreciate the reply |

There are SCART (RGB) to Component convertors, such as: http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/2005.html http://www.converters.tv/products/converters/other_products/46.html (same product) The other option is a component-out AV kit for a console. They take the RGB from the console & convert it to component. PS1/PS2 XBox GameCube Either way, you'd need to check the pinout of the connector & work out how to connect it to your JAMMA output. |

I emailed jrok about this (http://www.jrok.com/hardware/RGB.html) and he told me by the end of the month he has a component version coming out :). He even showed pictures, look nice. Still has s-video and composite, but now include component. |
