Just jump in on the next update as early as possible. I too thought I wouldn't get my ratio back up after five days now i am 2.0 for that torrent. I also DL'ed the .102 updates since I knew there where going to be alot more leachers for that. The only problem w/ using that to help my ratio is that I was DLing at 300kB/s and only uploading at 60kB/s. All you need to do is give it some time.

Also remember for the next update. Here is what you need to do to not have to DL everthing again.

When the update is anounced
1. Start Azureus.
2. Right click the Movie file you are seeding.
3. Click stop.
4. Go to PD and DL new torrent.
5. Open up Azureus and start new torrent.
6. The torrent should start checking against the existing movies. When it gets done checking it will then DL any new files that have been added.

I hope this helps calm any frustrations down the road.

I would limit Dl to 100kB/s and have unlimited upload. And my upload would go from 60kB/s to 5kB/s.

If you keep a ratio above .25 or avoid downloading more than 5 Gb, you'll stay off the "S" list.

Leecher - Over 5Gb downloaded and a ratio below 0.25 (Used as a reminder not to just keep taking) [Can download 1 torrent simultaneously]
Member - Under 5Gb Uploaded and/or a ratio below 0.75 (Default starting level) [Can download 2 torrents simultaneously]
Bronze Member - Uploaded at least 5Gb & has a ratio of 0.75 or above [Can download 2 torrents simultaneously]
Silver Member - Uploaded at least 10Gb & has a ratio of 1.0 or above [Can download 3 torrents simultaneously]
Gold Member - Uploaded at least 25Gb & has a ratio of 1.5 or above [Can download 5 torrents simultaneously]
Platinum Member - Uploaded at least 50Gb & has a ratio of 2.0 or above [Can download 10 torrents simultaneously]

I'm silver after downloading and seeding these movies.

Good news is I've nearly finished off S pack and was that a nightmare. 357 vids done so far, 3 outstanding. All are CHD's (sfrush, simpbowl, susume) and are proving troublesome in getting a video for using 098. If I can't get it by tomorrow then the pack will go out without them as a lovely christmas present to all. And after that it's T which is big, U-W which are small.

Sometime today I'm hoping to upload the T-W vid packs which will complete 098 playable, non-mature, non-mahjong, non-quiz games. Question I put forward is do you want me to do produce the mature vid set, mahjong/quiz vid set, or move up to mame0100/0102. If it's the newer version it may be easier for me to go from 098 to 0100 and produce the new and newly working games and then go from 0100 to 0102. But this will depend on the total number of games for each new release.

I was planning on putting these new releases into a new folder - ie MAME098 MATURE, MAME098 MAHJONG, MAME0100, MAME0102 and not break them down into letters or put the new vids into the existing letter folders (if that makes sense).

Any comments?

Am I missing any here? I only have up to: #-9,A-R,X-Z, and never saw any posted for quite a while. PB also isn't showing any new ones that I can see. Am I missing any? Should I continue seeding the : #-9,A-R,X-Z torrent file???

Thanks some much for your work.

my priority for updates would be.
mame0100/0102
mahjong/quiz vid set
mature vid set

and however you handle the .098 to .100 to .102 is up to you.

As far as the folder structure for updates to working games I would suggest adding them to the appropriate letter. Then if you do the mahjong, mature put them in a separate folder so that they can be discarded easier by those who wish not to have them. (I am assuming this is most people because they were not originally included.)

Well- I dont know what happened here. I WAS downloading at about 190k/s, but now it's dropped down to 0-4Bps for the past 2 hours! It says only 3(19) peers and 1(1) seeds. If anyone out there has the ability to seed, please do so. I'll gladly seed to help everyone else out as soon as I can get it downloaded myself.

Re-lax. I haven't even started these, have had some of the same issues as you, and got everything sorted out. The only reason you'll have problems is impatience. I got the "old" MAME torrent from there and did what was suggested (pick up the latest update pack and be a seeder for that to get ratio up) and out of both of those, I've gotten up to silver, and the majority of my ratio comes from the .36 torrent. I can pull all of the vids if I so wanted and NEVER drop below bronze membership.

Patience is the key and shouldn't be a problem, ESPECIALLY since you know you're getting the same stuff everyone else is getting.

Hey guys-
jcrouse just pointed out something to me. On [romsite name redacted], if you do a search for my username, it shows I only have a share ratio of 0.14. However, in my Azureus, it shows that I have a ratio of 0.902 as of now. That's a pretty big discrepency between the two. Can someone explain why this is?

[romsite name redacted] even shows the last time I accessed the site, which was today- so I don't think it's an updating issue. If they know the last time I accessed the site, they would know my current share ratio. Can someone explain? I just don't want to get banned, all while I was thinking I had a decent share ratio going on...

All those "it started downloading from the beginning" efforts is my bet.

What I found is that if you downloaded something and selected the wrong thing (yes, I know I thought I had the right folder too, but it was something stupid I selected, I bet the same thing happened to you), it would start from scratch.

You REALLY need to find some sort of tutorial on how to set up Azureus properly - they've got links somewhere there on how to do this for most popular torrent progs - before you DO get the boot there. It seems they're pretty strict and don't much care what your reason is, and the only solution you'll be given is a short reprieve to upload until your ratio gets back in line with their standards.

If it's DL'ing in the background (meaning you can't PHYSICALLY eyeball that potential download that's going on), you may have re-downloaded the entire thing again and dragged your ratio into the crapper. I'm tellin' ya, get and use the old version torrent to quickly raise your ratio as soon as possible after getting closer to back in line.

Hey-
I just looked in my MAME098 Game Previews directory and saw a folder titles 'roms'. It has all the roms in zipped format in there (about 12GIG on disk). I must've moved that folder in there on accident. I assume it's not part of the Mame Preview packs- but- can you guys confirm that if I move it out of that directory, I wont screw up these downloads (ie- screw up the seeding) of these packs?

Yeah, that's the plan. Im going to download some other stuff so I can turn around and upload it again to get the ratio up higher. It really helped changing to uTorrent, as my file upload speed went from 4k to 50-60k with uTorrent yesterday. Azureus sucks. I'm going to seed for a few more weeks and really get my ratio cranked up there so I can download anything I want and not worry about it.

Im also just going to move that directory and see what happens...

I'm using BitTornado after seeing that it seemed to be the only one they "approved" of. It's worked better than the clients I've used in the past, which I'm positive weren't BitLord. Doesn't help you on that front, but they give you a nice easy setup tute for BitTornado, and no friggen spyware/adware/crapware/bloated install.

I wish they would just pick on app and stick with it- then make it obvious THATS the one they want you to use. I almost got shitlisted because of Azureus, but never would've known it was crappy until I dug DEEP into the forums and found one post about it screwing up your ratios. They knew it, but never make it obvious not to use it. HOWEVER, they have no problem booting you for not knowing what they know...

Like I said, uTorrent, SO FAR, has worked well for me. At least, until the PD Gods decide it sucks... LOL

Not sure on that, since I didn't know I needed a separate signup for their forums it seems. From what I CAN see of their forums, in the FAQ, the "don't underestimate the power of BitTornado" is what I was referring to. Posting that, and following that as well as the links in there will get you to some site that helps with port forwarding and some help with most every major client.

I just went with what the only one mentioned in the FAQ's was

These use the xvid codec instead of the divx which the old set used.
