using torrentzip had no affect on size, however the initial zipping did reduce it by 120MB using winrar, but that's because avi's can't really be compressed.

Torrentzip doesn't compress, it "massages" the information in the zip file (such as the time stamps of the files) that could change from one machine to the next, so thatthe zip files appear to be identical, regardless of who or what or when they were compressed.

The actual zipping is done beforehand (by winrar in cdbrown's case for example)

I have begun seeding M again but it's timing out with the tracker at the moment.

The new releases will primarily be released through [romsite name redacted] and once it has been seeded to a few people I'll put it up on pirate bay.

[romsite name redacted] were moving their server over today, so just wait till the move is complete and signup then

Ok have finally got the torrent updated with P vids. The old torrent has been deleted (you may notice that the torrent client is not authorized for that tracker)

Go download the new torrent

Everyone will need to go there and re-download the file. You'll find the current torrent won't find the tracker anymore.

I use Azureus. It works pretty well and there are some rss importer plug-in's for it.

I hate [romsite name redacted] 1:1ratio. There is no way you can keep a 1 to 1 ratio in check if you are dl anything. If i try to limit my dl speed my ul speed suffers too. I totally understand the need for their for a ratio system just like in irc but 1 to 1 is harsh if you don't want to keep you computer running 24/7.

My ratio is at .20 because as soon as I got all of the videos there was no one else to upload too. I am trying to bring my ratio up by dl the .102 update since it should stay popular for awhile.

Can we PLEASE find another place to download from? Everything was going great with the original place- now we have to go through all this hassle to try to download it from [romsite name redacted]. I have no problem seeding day/night elsewhere- just seems as tho [romsite name redacted] has been nothing but headaches- download this, rezip this, then zip this, oh wait, you need to download that to be able to do this, now if it starts downloading all 184billion gigs, you did it wrong- wait, now go redownload this file- crap, it's not accepting this program anymore, your ratio is this. what a PITA!

We made it halfway through with no problems at the [romsite name redacted]. Yes, it's slower, but MUCH MUCH easier. I stopped downloading vids when you all switched it over to [romsite name redacted]- too much headache for me. Can we please switch it back over to ---No torrents please - thanks!---, or, at least upload it to there so the rest of us who don't want to deal with [romsite name redacted] can get to them? Again, I seed day/night, 24-7, so I can certainly help people out- I just want to be able to get to the last sets of videos without all this drama and headache...

I feel your pain but i think we need to wait till all parts are done before we put a torrent up on [romsite name redacted] again. So we have everyone on the same page w/ only one torrent file to be seeded. Instead of "oh wait I need A-D but no one is seeding can some seed this again!"

when you download the new torrent it resumes, the only issue was using torrentzip to gety everyone on the same page, once that was done you just stop the old torrent get the new one and it gets the missing files, leaving all the old ones in tact. It is actually very easy and stops the problem of trying to seed 27 torrents.

Select Send To - trrntzip.exe (or if you called it different)
This will then do a thorough check and rezip of all the files
and now your set will be exactly the same as mine.

Any problems just post here - remember you won't have to redownload anything if you have kept the original structure and followed the instructions above

Just re-read that and do it or do what I did and DL the whole thing again. Youll get around 200Kb/s per second if you have broadband. Currently 16 seeders and 1 leacher Then just let it upload after its done dl'ing to get your ratio closer to normal.

Now when the torrent gets updated again on [romsite name redacted] all you do is stop seeding the old torrent. DL the new torrent, make sure your bittorrent client checks the new one against the old and your DL will start at where ever the old one left off at.

Hope this helps. on the .102 update I was DL'ing at 500Kb/s so its worth some of the hassle.

I am having major problems with ---No torrents please - thanks!--- at the moment. I tried all different torrents from that site and continually got unable to connect to tracker errors. Other trackers like [romsite name redacted] I don't have a problem. If someone wants to put them up on [romsite name redacted] then I'm fine with that as long as you try to use the same descriptions as the other releases.

But [romsite name redacted] has 15 seeders waiting to dish out the bandwidth to anyone who wants it.

ok look. I'm on ---No torrents please - thanks!---. Downloaded the new torrent, including r-x or whatever. I open Azreus, open that torrent file, save the files to the directory I already have- Mame098 Game Previews - or whatever it's called. Inside that folder I have all the individual folder packs- MAME098 A, MAME098 B, etc. So, the torrent goes through a check, then starts downloading.

Here's the problem- it's downloading the entire thing! 2.1GIG! I already have all the packs up to Q- why is it doing this? How do I get it to just download the updated folders???

This sucks. About 102MB into the ENTIRE download, the thing comes to a screeching halt with an error.

Can someone explain what this means? AND- how do I fix it? ALSO- why is this downloading the ENTIRE thing, and not just the updated files???

I thought this was only on [romsite name redacted], if you got it off ---No torrents please - thanks!--- it probably is not the same structure as the [romsite name redacted] torrent. If you are trying to resume off of your old ---No torrents please - thanks!--- downloads and you are now using the [romsite name redacted] trackers, the directories probably will not match and since the files are not torrent zip it will not recognize. If a single file is giving you an error, stop the download, delete that file, the re-download the torrent and let it start that file over. Shouldn't be that big of a deal.

The folder structure for [romsite name redacted] should be - within a main folder (can be called anything)
MAME098 #0-9
MAME098 A
MAME098 B
etc
One folder for each letter. You need to go into each of the avi folders, select all the avi files (ctrl-A selects all files, then hold the ctrlr button and click on the txt file to unselect it)

Once again, Thanks for doing all of this- it's awesome!

I am on [romsite name redacted]. I downloaded the torrent file, opened it in Azreus, told it where to save the downloaded files- and it starts. It downloads the entire 2gig worth of files- so I don't know what I did wrong. It's still downloading.

About every 10 minutes, it stops downloading, with an error message similar to the one I posted above. I stop the download, restart it, and it goes for another 10 minutes. It's very frustrating. I'd rather have stayed in ---No torrents please - thanks!--- at a 2kbs speed than deal with babysitting the download every 10 minutes... Oh well- it's close to being done I think, so I'll let you know how it goes...

Man- I download for 2 min, then it hits me with this error and stops the download. I gotta tell you guys- [romsite name redacted] SUCKS. Sure, it's fast- but- I'd rather download from [romsite name redacted] at a 2kbps speed with no interruptions than this 100kbps and have to restart it every 2 minutes. Here's the error-

Did if ever occur that it couple be the user or more likely the computer setup? THere are MANY happy users at [romsite name redacted]. I've spent lots of time in the forums and hardly ever see anyone having issues.

Well, what sucks is- if no one downloads from you when you're seeding, it doesn't effect your ratio. It's not my fault that no one dls when I'm seeding. So I have to keep this program open for the next 5 years and hopes someone dls from me to get my ratio back up. I understand why they do it that way, but, I wish they would take into account how long, in time, you've been seeding as well- I could seed for the next week and never have my ratio change. Oh well, I guess there's never a perfect app... well, there is photoshop, but, other than that...

Almost done! Only a few more packs left! Man, it's soo cool that these guys have taken the time to make all these videos...
