4-way that mounts in place of Super?
« on: April 23, 2002, 06:28:34 pm »
Any recommendations on a good 4-way joystick to replace a Happ Super in a panel (flipped actuator just doesn't cut it).  I'd like to find a true 4 way that has same mounting dimensions as Super (bolt holes are 3" by 2.6" apart) so I can just pop the Super out and pop the new one in.  There is a 4-way Happ Ultimate that looks like it has same mounting dimensions.  Any opinions on the Ultimate or any other ideas?

Thanks!

I haven't tried the ultimate, but the Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga replacement stick is identical except for the length and style of the shaft, and the bottom plate has a diamond-shaped restrictor hole.  All other parts are interchangeable, and the mounting plate is exactly the same size.  I would assume that most of the Happ sticks share the same base, just with different restrictor plates and whatnot.  Try looking at the exploded/mounting views on the Happs site for measurements.

1UP,

Are you saying that you can order the MsPacman joystick and the Super.  But when you assemble them together, just use the Super mounting assembly and the MsPacman stick and connectors?
