I'm finishing my basement and trying to decide what my budget will be to put in a wide screen HD tv....
ChadTower:

You can fit multiple pins and/or cabs in that space instead.

I assumed that's what a finished basement was for.  Right?
ChadTower:

My basement isn't anywhere near finished and it's still for pins and vids.

I've had a 50" tv for the past 11 years. I look at other peoples 27" or 35" tv's when I visit and think "What a puny tv." Once you go big screen, you can't go back. The regular tv's look wimpy.

Get a nice HDTV rear projection for around $2000. You have to watch out for these new projection tv's that display on a screen, the replacement bulbs (which die after about a year) can really cost you.

If you really want to go the DLP projector route, get a regular 35" tv for standard viewing, and only use the big one for movies and such.
