ok here is the deal i bought some small cans of American standard Latex Primer and Semi Gloss Enamel Bright White. I applied one coat of the latex primer to the mdf wood. Now it is dry what do I want to do next? do i want to sand the primer? or just apply the enamel? Also how do i work with Semi Gloss enamel if i sand it wont it remove the semi gloss???? any help is appreciated this is my first paintintg project ever. |

You will want to sand the primer, and than for a better finish, apply another caot of primer, and then sand that coat, When you paint, you want to sand after every coat of paint, except that last coat, thats the one you do not sand. I am no painting expert, but this is what I have been told. Hope that helps -LDS- |

what grit sand paper am i going to want to use for paints? somethign very fine? |
| Ldsfunaz:
i used 100 for my primer, and 320 for my semigloss, i started out trying to get away with 100 on my semigloss and that looked like poopy-pie. I then went out and got the 320 and I am very happy with the finish |

I use 320 grit between coats, whether it's primer or finish paint. |
