Guys before I begin here, please read carefully. I started not to post this, and I may regret doing so.
That's a very disturbing story, to say the least....
but I wonder if there would be the same level of bruhaha over it were it two 11 and 12 year old black girls singing the praises of Malcom X. Or two 11 and 12 year olds lifting the Asian community over others....
I know, I know - not quite the same thing, you say. But what if they are purporting the rise of the African-American over other races? Would there be any outcry of racism then?
My point: political correctness is / can be dangerous if the same weights are not placed on everyone. A double standard at times. From what I see these days, there are different rules for every single group of people, and that is very, very dangerous I think.
For example, it is wrong for myself as a Christian to tell someone about Christ in schools; yet I should be listening to the teachings of Allah, Buddah (I know I spelled that wrong), whoever. Do I think it's wrong to be exposed to many ideas? No. I just question why, if we're going to open it to all these other religions, why is there this desire to look at all religions EXCEPT Christianity.
Like I said, double standards exist as I see it. Until such time as we can free all our minds to be willing to listen to all sides, this will continuet to cause trouble.
