My point:  political correctness is / can be dangerous if the same weights are not placed on everyone.  A double standard at times.  From what I see these days, there are different rules for every single group of people, and that is very, very dangerous I think.

For example, it is wrong for myself as a Christian to tell someone about Christ in schools; yet I should be listening to the teachings of Allah, Buddah (I know I spelled that wrong), whoever.  Do I think it's wrong to be exposed to many ideas? No.  I just question why, if we're going to open it to all these other religions, why is there this desire to look at all religions EXCEPT Christianity.

Like I said, double standards exist as I see it.  Until such time as we can free all our minds to be willing to listen to all sides, this will continuet to cause trouble.

IMO, the difference is what they're saying.  Anyone promoting hatred based on stereotyping is bad in my book.  If they hated some individual or group for what they did, that's one thing.  I think that's why people can rip on the kkk and nazi's.  They raise their kids with the decisions the parents have made instead of raising the kids to make their own decisions.

That's part of my arguement with religion.  I've meet people who are trying to "spread the word of god" because of what they've read of a single religion (or worse yet were only taught what to believe).  I threw out some Mormons the other day after asking them what other religions they've studied.  Their response was "none", so I told them not to come back until they could intelligently discuss the topic of religion.

Far too many people just accept something as "fact" because they were raised that way.  Like I said, these girls should be raised to make their own decisions, and I doubt at their age they have any idea about what their words really mean.  If an Asian kid is being told to "kill whitey" every day then they should be taken away from the parents because they're not being given the proper "tools" to interact with society.  Same thing here.  These girls are getting a one-way ticket to the prison system from their parents.  It's unfortunate that PCness gets in the way of actually doing this across the board.  IMO, some parents don't do their job, and some lawmakers don't do theirs.

BTW, I don't think religion has any place in school unless it's a religious studies course that compares them all.  School is supposed to be based in fact and religion, other than the historical aspects, is hypothetical.

My parents became friends with a husband & wife mormon couple. My old-man made it clear from the beginning that we did not want to be converted, just friends in the normal sense. You shoulda chased them off. They knocked on my door once. I kind of enjoy it when missionaries come to my house.  I'll usually chat with them, and try to be as good naturedly blasphemous as I can.  I don't get mad, but make it clear that I just think their whole business is first-rate comedy.  In reality, I think that religion is generally harmful in many ways, but letting them know that just strengthen's their resolve and makes them feel better about what they're doing.  People love a chance to feel some righteous indignation.  When they realize that you find them amusing, to the point of hlilarity it's kind of offputing and they are usually either entirely pleasant, or squirmingly uncomfortable, which is always entertaining.

Watched a documentary on channel 4 last night called "Nazi Pop Twins" about prussian blue. If you guys can get your hands on it, its DEFINITELY worth a watch. Turns out the mother is the main culprit with the twins wanting to write and perform normal non racist stuff. Brilliant documentary.
