| Modifying Mamewah for use with gamepad |

| J-Rod:
I am currently using the gamepad alot with the J-Rcade, and would like to be extremely lazy while playing my NES/SNES. I have enabled the Joy, so I can navigate the menus using the pad, and changed the input in the ctrlr so I can select a game using a spare pad button. However, I'd like to be able to exit the emulator as well from the pad (wishful thinking? :)) I know there are the hacked versions of FCE and ZSNES that have the esc function, but that doesn't really help. Am I up a creek without getting something like reshack and trying to hack the .exe myself? Any input is appreciated! -JC |

I'm not sure how, but I'm pretty sure you could modify the ahk script to call for shutdown of a current app when you hit some button on the joypad. Im not sure though if AHK takes gamepad input so you may have to use JOyToKey. Speaking of which, you could probably remap the button to Esc through JoyToKey (I think ???) |

I googled joytokey, gotta love those foreign apps. Too tired to play tonight, but if you can map any keys or key combos? to a joy button, that would work. I could either map alt-f4, or use the hacked .exes and map esc. I'll have to check that out after work tomorrow. I was hoping for a more direct fix, but this might suffice. Thanks for the reply. |

I'm fairly sure MAMEWah will accept USB gamepad input as control input. From memory it's all well documented in the README files. |

Yes, I think you are misunderstanding the problem, however. The issue is getting to be able to close out the FCE or ZSNES using only the controller.... I already have the controller working with mamewah to navigate menus and select games. Did you read the post or just reply to the topic? ;) |
