| Whole lot of shaking going on?... |

Do you have an internal frame? Or have you just glued and screwed the edges of mdf panels? You should be concernced about the cab if it racking instead of rocking. If it's racking, it's likely to come apart at the joints one time. It's only going to do it for so long before it fails structurally. Racking would be like if you took a square, pushed sideways on the top, the bottom stays in palce, and the top slides over until you have a parallelogram. If it's tipping on the castors, you should probably be worried about it falling over. bracing the cab might be as simple as screwing a couple of metal straps inside diagonally. I've used these metal straps or cables to brace docks as such things before. It's quick and easy even if it's not the best solution. |

lmao .... he goes to get more cola only to hear a loud thud and return to find his arcade cabinet in pieces on the floor and his friends blaming one another for its unfortunate mishap. That would make one heck of a BYOAC blooper ;D btw .... maybe the floor isn't exactly level ;) |

If either the floor, casters, or a combination of both isn't perfectly level the cabinet will have a tendancy to rock, similar to that crappy table at your local dine-n-dash (you know the one, you always have to shove a handfull of napkins under one of the legs). Also if they are all swivel casters it will have some movement. I always put two rigid casters on the front of my cabs, and the swivels on the back, that seems to help. |

If you think it's cabinet construction related, I'd be interested in seeing pics of the cab and how it's constructed. I'd be interested to see because mine rocks too and I think it's because I used 1.5" cleats instead of full 1x3 or 2x4 framing. As with you, mine's fine except when friends play fighters. I figure I'll brace at some point. -pmc |
