| Portable MAME Machine |

I'm still in search of a portable MAME machine and was wondering if anyone has seen or purchase something simular to the following: http://www.sl-interphase.com/system.html http://www.etgtechnologies.com/gamepad.htm They appear to be prototypes that didn't get off the ground, but look like something that would suit my purpose. Quite frankly I find a battery life of under 8 hours(playing MAME) is unacceptable, so I guess that Laptops/notebooks are still out. Any more suggestions/ideas on what hardware I could use? Thanks. Alot of the major portable players have a mame port--your 8 hr battery life is unrealistic since I have yet to see a portable that has enough power for mame and yet can last that long. The device I'm using (gamepark32) has a battery life claimed at 6 hrs but I have yet to relaize that with cpu intensive games (i.e. mame) Maybe you could clarify your requirements further. |

What about using a psp or a pocket pc (ie ipaq)? |

I've got an old Powerbook that I use for portable gaming. A gamepad fits really nicely in the bag for it, as does the trackball. Unless you plan to take it camping, power usually isn't an issue with a laptop. You can get car converters for most of them, and can plug them in between trips (at work, at home, at a friend's house, etc...). |
