I'm thinking a combined game like that would at least have to have some common theme or element. Even if the gameplay is drastically different between areas, you could get away with it if there's common graphics/story to tie it together. Tron's a good example of this. Gorf's also another example. I never understood why the "invaders" and the Galaxians were helping the Gorfian empire. They're just all there in variations on the same theme. |

Ok, now maybe not quite 100% BYOAG concept but I think it would be pretty cool to hack your own face into NBA Hangtime or MAXHANGT similar to the Chandler Bing and other hidden players. I assume its not possible but thought I'd throw it out and see if anyone has an idea. |

Those games are owned by taito and namco respectively so obvioulsy these are totally different and original characters that just happen to be very similar and have similar (if not identical) names. Very much like the sub-mariner is in no way a total rip-off of Aquaman. ;) Check your Gorf history..... Although the "invaders" stage was deemed original enough to not infringe on copyrights, the "galaxians" stage wasn't so lucky and was dropped from the console versions of the game. Gorf was a very early attempt at a "themed" multi cart cab. Basically you have 5 space games split into stages. (The first game with different stages btw.) |
