MAME machine was a hit!
« on: April 21, 2002, 12:09:52 pm »
I had a birthday party last night and invited a number of friends over.  The MAME machine was a huge hit.

The way I have my machine set up everything can be done from the control panel.  I was very surprised that people were able to walk up, with no idea how to use the cabinet and were able to start the games and play them with no instructions.

Anyway, we can almost guarantee that there are going to be some new MAMErs out there after last night.

Thanks, everyone, for the assistance in building the cabinet, it made my 35th birthday a big success.

I'm thinking of doing something myself, but I am a bit worried....either the machine will get completely ignored or it'll be so popular that not enough drinking will be done :)

What games did your guests seem to enjoy most ?

There was certainly not enough drinking.  I bought lots of Shiner Bock and Coronas and I have lots left.  I was a bit disappointed, since my friends normally can put the brewskis away.

Most of the games I saw played were Galaga, Cyberball, KoF2001 and Defender.

hehehe.. I did a similar thing two weeks ago.. I had the First Annual (May turn into a bi-monthly event!) Klutzolympics!

There are truly some great arcade players out there, lemme tell you.  =>  A couple of friends of mine are real experts at:

- Joust
- Galaga
- Robotron

Check out my website to see some details.  =>

That's why my machine is made to be easy clean too....

HA!  Make the tap double as the Tapper control!

Muhahahaha!!!

;D

Mini-fridge in the base would work too.   There might even be enough space to set it in there ;)
