In contrast Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the DC looks nice & crisp. I don't know if all the Capcom 2d fighters on xbox are like this but I hope not... --- End quote --- I heard a rumour that all Capcom 2D/Low-res fighters will have this feature (upsampled to 480p with bilinear filter) on all future XBox and PS2 releases. Take that with a grain of salt, as it was definitely not confirmed by any official source. I do hope if it is true, they at least give an in-game option to disable the feature. I can understand with the gaming market all salivating for HD-resolution gaming that companies would do this, but it leaves us low-res lovers with a bad taste in our mouths. --- End quote --- It is true, but you CAN go to options and disable it, so all is good. Go to options. Go to Adjust Screen. Turn the filter off. ;) |

--- Quote from: Minwah on October 09, 2005, 06:31:49 pm ---Just tried it out - great game! Be warned that to select/play it you need to use 2 analog thumbsticks. So this makes it very difficult (/impossible?) to play with arcade controls :( --- End quote --- Check this out: www.quasimoto.com They sell (IMHO over priced) full-sized arcade cabs with a regular TV and an xbox in it. If you look at the pics of the control panel at the bottom of each players controls (just to the right of the grey buttons) are a pair of sticks with a blue base, and an orange top. Those are the analog controls from the xbox controller. Basically their button layout is like an XBOX with the start, triggers, bk & wh buttons all done with buttons. THe joystick is the D-Pad, and the 2 sticks at the bottom as mentioned are the analog controls. IOW, it IS possible. BTW, andone know where I can actually buy those kinds of sticks for my control panel? Also, if you wanna stick an xbox into a real jamma cab, ultimarc sells xbox-to-jamma converters, etc. I don't think it's linked anywhere on their main pages, but I think you can search for xbox on their site and pull them up. They are pretty cheap too. Brain21 |

The catch is that it uses a switch to determine ANALOG or DIGITAL mode. --- End quote --- I don't know about the kit, but I am guessing that it works like the pre-built one that you buy. I have the 2-player x-arcade for the xbox. You hold down a sequence of buttons and they joysticks switch from digital mode to analog. The analog controls work great when playing Mario Kart via the n64 emu that I am running on the xbox, but when I try certain games in MAME (curiously mostly the vector based-games so far...) the sticks in analog mode just don't work at all. :-( I have to switch back to the regular xbox controller. YMMV. Brain21 |
