I really don't think he should be selling artwork that I designed for $43 US with shipping. I'm going to ask him to remove it or reduce the price to $20. |

Classicarcadegrafix.com sells the Starfighter sideart and marquee that I made for my cab and uploaded for others. When I first found out he was selling it I was pissed, but now that I look at it, I'm flattered. It's cool to see what I spent time in creating being sold so others can enjoy it too. If I can by artwork that others have created/re-created allready to be installed on my machine, then I see no problem in it. It saves me time and $$ by having someone else do it for me. As long as he doesn't take credit for the artwork himself I see no problem in it. |

Generally, I feel the same way . . . Not exactly the same example, but I did some panel layouts for display in a frontend (before Johnny5 made them obsolete). I had them available for download, but not in a large zip file (bandwidth concerns at MAMEworld), and then I was stealing, er, acquiring the latest CP packs and marquee packs at Emu-France and saw layouts and was really surprised (and flattered) that they were my files. At first I was taken aback that they didn't contact me first, then I realized that I was glad they were up there, so no problem in the end. I wouldn't have a problem with someone selling printed copies, but selling the images themselves on a website would bother me, although if it was E-bay, I doubt I'd do much more than post a comment in the auction that "I created these images and they can be downloaded for free from www. . . . |

Some of the artwork I created is on the arcade library site. I don't care who uses it or how. If I did, I wouldn't have uploaded it. It's not like I own the copyright anyway, all I did was reproduce existing artwork in a format that's usable for printing. -S |
