Damn I thought they were ground wires for something. Can you just wire it to the ground wires coming off each button that ends up running back to the ground on the encoder?
I will have to take a picture and post it ... if anyone wants to shot me an email to make sure I get this set up correctly that would be great.

3" Trackball with USB and PS/2 Interface Blue Translucent and Illuminated
--- End quote ---
topdawgg how do you like your new trackball?
That's the exact one I'm looking at getting.
Also, does anyone know why the
3" Trackball with USB and PS/2 Interface Blue Translucent and Illuminated ($153.60) costs less then the
3" Trackball with USB and PS/2 Interface Blue Translucent ($154.95).
It's not much but it's just weird. ???
One last thing which mounting plate kit did you get?
paigeoliver:
The green wires can go to earth ground, they can go a metal control panel, your monitor frame, or the cabinet's ground strap.
Or they can be completely ignored, almost no trackballs have them, and the average mame cabinet doesn't have the big earth ground strap setup that most factory arcade games had.

I believe I got the standard mounting kit. I just looked at the connections on the trackball too.
Thanks Paige... what can it hurt if I do ignore it? I mean it was expensive and I dont want to screw it up. Also, does anyone know if that light will actually light up without hooking up an external power source? If so then I guess it will just draw through the USB port like any other external device does...?
Thanks.
