IG-88:
I'm not sure quite how too explain this and it's probably too vague a question but I am wondering why my 64mb ATI all-in-wonder 7500 vid card produces a much more realistic/authentic looking arcade like picture than any other card I've tried? On a PC monitor it just looks fantastic, whereas my 128 mb XGI Volari V3 card (or any other I've tried) displays a more blocky, sharper image. Which is OK,
RayB:
Those are scanline effects done (partially) via DirectX, and not all cards have the features required for them.
IG-88:
Would you happen to know of any other cards besides the all-in-wonder that can do that?
RayB:
I have no idea. There are other factors as well that could affect the display. For example, are you using 100% the exact same configuration for both cards you tested? If you used MAME32 on one and then a different MAME (DOS or Windows command line MAME) for the other, that would also affect the display output.

Sounds like the filtering which occurs with many (most?) video cards, when using hwstretch.  Maybe your other card can stretch without the filtering.
