| LuSiD's Plans Can I Get Inside? |
| (1/1) |
| JONTHEBOMB:
Hello, I am using LuSiD's Plans to build my cabinet. I have my wood and will be soon getting the other supplies. 1. What I'm wondering is if I don't hinge the cabinet front will I be able to get into my cabinet when it's finished to put a computer inside? Or should I maybe hinge a piece on the back for access? Thanks 2. Another quick thing is if I am going to use a 21 inch PC monitor I just need to switch all the 26 inch measurements to 22 inch measurements and I should be ok right? Thanks again (I'm just a little worried about screwing something up.) |

1: Not easily. You can go in through the back (if you hinge it) or you can remove the CP and go in through there (not very big). 2: I think so, but be sure to change the CP size to fit. |

I used the Lusid plans to build my cab. Originally, I hinged the front and back, but after some use, I decided I did not like the look of the hinge on the front (never saw a real Arcade cabinet like that) and decided to screw the front panel it down. I access the computer from the back hinge now. No problems at all. I put my cab on caster wheels and just wheel it forward from the wall when I need to access it. If you put your cab on hinged, shorten it by 2 - 3 inches. I can power the unit on and off through the coin door when I need to get in that way. My computer will not power on when I turn on the main cabinet power. Something with the BIOS. As far as the dimensions go, I would just leave it at the current size in the plans. Who knows, maybe someday you will inherit a larger monitor. |
