I work for a major pharmacy/retail chain, on the backend software that gets used when you scan your rewards card for either prescriptions or sale items... dude, you would not believe how much processing and gathering is done on the data you voluntarily give when you use one of those cards.

Given the way rights are being trampled regularly now, think of the composite picture someone will be able to pull for you with all of the discount cards you use.  Combine that with your credit card purchases, your tax information, etc... a person will be able to pull a better picture of your personality, flaws, habits, and entire life more accurate than your wife has over your marriage, and they'll do it in seconds.
