Since you know everything, I have a question.   ;D  How can I make sure each game is running at its optimal refresh rate / modeline stats?  For instance Pac-man.  Before it was running it at 57 Hz or something like that.  I think because I only gave it the option of 50-60 and it wanted 60.60606.  So now, based on the stats given in my monitor manual, I increased the available refresh range to 50-65.  But now it says it is using 65!  And the movement still looks stuttery like it is not in the perfect mode.  Also Pac-mania is still slow and says it is running at 65Hz also.  Very frustrating.

Vertical 224x288x60.60Hz will be what I am primarily in, since that covers most of the Pac-mans and Galaga.  So if I have to set some default, it would be that.  Just figured it could pick the best one per game but...  I also read you have to "choose between" 224 and 240 vertical lines based on what games you play, and someone with a WG D9200 was able to choose some setting in between and a range to be optimized for both... kinda lost on that one.

Lastly, I manually copied the modeline stats from advmame.rc to advmenu.rc.  Still does the same thing, telling me I have no valid modes available.   :P

I just don't understand why people have to create manual modelines, when the frequency info is listed right in MAME.
