i'm after some advice. i'm planning on carrying out some upgrades to my videomaster cab.

1. New control panel. 6 buttons per player.

2. New bezel

3. Paint sides of cabinet

Control panel is first. Main problem i've got with this is getting the wood cut - i've not got any wood cutting kit and wouldn't fancy cutting it myself.

The hard parts are the angled bits and the groove for the t-molding.  Would i be best to get this done by a chippie?

Next up is the bezel. Have any of you guys replaced one of these before? what's the best way to stick it to the glass?

eggedd2k:

finally, painting the side of the cab. what sort of paint do you recommend for this?

Not sure about the other questions, btu for the angled cuts, you'd best get your hands on a tablesaw somehow.  Either someone you know with one, or take it to a local wood shop and pay a few bucks for the cuts.  I tried doing a cut like that with my circular saw, and the results weren't pretty.  In the end a nice guy I work with helped me out with his tablesaw.

Not sure what you mean by angled cuts. If you mean you want to sort of bevel the edge, that can be done with a router with the proper bit, as can the t-mold slot. Sounds like you probably don't have one though so this is probably not much help. If you have a buddy who owns one that's probably the way to go.
