If you have an EXTRA 12 connections in your encoder.... Then you can use analog+ mame to get 1/2 of the rotary games working perfect. I would recommend this along with the druins board. (druins for ikari warriors and a few that use that driver and for Xybots). But you can get time solders running without additions cash to start off with... but druins board is really cheap (compared to everything else you've bought) |

I just went to Happ's site and priced what it would take to use the coupler I supplied along with Happ's optical rotary interface. In parts alone it would cost just as much or more for a druin's, as opposed to converting the mechanical into an optical. |

Lilwolf forgot to read! :P :P --- Quote from: Kremmit on August 30, 2005, 12:13:03 am ---Currently you can only interface those with a Druin's interface, or by connecting all of the contacts on the rotary switch as buttons and using Mame Analog+. The Analog+ method only supports a few games, whereas the Druin's method works with all the mechanical rotary games. --- End quote --- |

I was more mentioning that you should consider doing both in the long run. And you can start with one... then add more later if money is an issue... TimeSoldier alone can fill your rotary fix for a month before you start jonz'n for some VictRoad! But even with a druins board. You should consider direct connect for the others. I really need to take a look at the driver and see if I can figure out the Ikari + analog+mame issue. |
