I was in the military. I don't think it would be that easy. The chinesee have some pretty crappy equipment, although they have a lot of it.

They deploy some bombs and the weather satelites we have will shoot them down. They couldn't launch an invasion force like that. Look how long we built up for Iraq. It was weeks of preparation. We are a pretty big land mass and we have supremacy over these waters too.

The big thing they could do is kick us economically, and they are doing that right now. Look at the trade deficits with China, it's unreal. They are buying all the oil and steel right now. They are tooling, and getting pretty good at it I hear. We've had several die casting programs go over there.

I was reading Automotive News and the big 3 are making a major push to tool up there. China is thinking of introducing a new car for the American Market next year.

They make all kinds of things now. If they continue to grow in sophistication, we will have a very hard time competeing with them. Then we'll be hurting.

Isolationism anyone?

Hey Fredster, I hate to burst your ultra right wing bubble, but I'm pretty damn liberal. I also live in the south and I'd blow away any member of any invasion force. Not all southerners are conservative, not all liberals are opposed to defending the country if it really were necessary. Man, I know you Republicans hate it when when the damn tree hugging liberals don't fit your pidgeon holes. ;)
