Twinsticks

Without seeing the inside of one, it's hard to tell exactly how to hack one.
If they are digital sticks, it would be a simple matter of replacing the existing contacts with ones from real arcade sticks.
(Xenophobe/Discs of Tron sticks would be good candidates for this).

If they are analog, you would quite probably need to replace the pots in two arcade analog sticks with pots measuring the values used in the sticks you are planning to hack.
I'm not sure if you can hack a regular DC gamepad for this either.

If not, that would mean buying the twin sticks AND two Happ analog sticks....Triple OUCH!
You can usually pick up the Happ analogs on ebay for considerably less than Happ sells them, but it would still be a VERY expensive proposition.
I'm not sure how cheap Ponyboy sells them in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here, but he has all the Happ stuff (new) at a significant discount.

As far as them being both analog and digital, that's not really probable.
They may be analog, and have an Analog-Digital converter inside the controller that would allow them to ACT as digital controllers, however.
I've never even seen a Dreamcast though, so I'm completely speculating here.

Ok, let me explain in as much detail as possable.

                   DC=Arcade(twinstick)
Left             Left Digital/both sticks left
Right           Right Digital/both sticks Right
Up                Up Digital/  Both sticks Foward
Down           Down Digital/Both sticks Back
Pivot left           left analog/left stick back, right stick foward
Pivot Right       Right analog/lefr stick foward, right stick back

Dash              X,B/ Top buttons
Attack             Triggers/ triggers on sticks
Jump                   Y/ left stick left, Right stick Right
Guard                 A/left stick Right, Right stick left

Start....is start (duh)

This might be a tad more complicated than i thought, oh well, any help will be appreciated.

Virtual On sticks are digital.

And as I understand things, the Saturn Twin STicks should be a fair bit cheaper than the DC ones.
The Saturn controller was massively overproduved, and many retailers were STILL struggling to clear out old stock when the DC came around. Sega overcompensated, and massively UNDERproduced the DC twinsticks.

This fixed retailer problems nicely, as smeone in Hong Kong made a Saturn TwinStick->DC TwinStick adapter. And a lot of people bought that and a Saturn TwinStick, because it was WAY cheaper than DC twinsticks.

Seven7:

Well, the one place i found that sells them, the prices aren't that cheeper.

DC=$99.95

Saturn=$89.99 w adapter included

Both are from toysnjoys.com

If you know a place that sells them cheaper, enlighten me, please.
(no really please, i'd like to know.)

Well, they were cheaper a few years ago... Guess they cleared all the stock out.

EBay? Only see 2 pair of Saturn sticks, though they're about half the price of the one set of DC sticks I see.
But the shipping drags them back up to what your source has them for.
