I grew up in West Valley.  I'm in Cedar City now going to school.

I'm up north in the Providence/Logan area.  I've actually found some good deals at the D.I. (just have to keep an eye out).  Also, have found some stuff at antique stores.  Once I started collecting and making stuff, friends that would see the arcade in my kitchen would always say something like "You don't want a pinball do you? My dad is trying to get rid of his old machine..." Deals will come around every once and while, but I would love to have that auction come through again (I missed it when it came through last time).

What part of Utah are you from?  Also, what are you looking for specifically, I have found a few contacts throughout the state for various arcade parts, you may be close to a great source.

Hey guys,

Thought i'd chime in here since I am from Utah.  I live in the Sandy/Draper area and am on a quest to build the ultimate MAME arcade setup.  I've got a friend who owns a speaker company who has offered to help with the design, building,etc.. so i'm trying to learn all i can.  Thanks to this site and others, there is a lot of info available.   I've love to see (and play) a MAME system before building mine...

Take Care.

I live here in Utah County. I get my games from a guy who works for the Kingstons. They own all of the games at Lagoon. All of the games I have purchased from him just came off route from Hill AFB. There is also a guy in Santaquin that apparently has a warehouse full of games. I haven't had a chance to look and see what he has for myself yet, so I am reluctant to give his info out. I'm not looking for anything rare, but I have been to generous with info in the past and had cabs like an Asteroids Deluxe and Ms. Pac-Man slip away.

There is a guy in Orem that has an Asteroids, Mouse Trap, Space Duel, Super Mario Bros and a few more vectors, but he isn't sure what he wants for them. I offered him $600 for all 6 of his machines (some are not working) and he passed it up. The only one really worth getting is the Asteroids. His info is on KSL.com under classifieds. There are always a few games posted there. I beleve there is a Super Mario Bros, and a Marvel vs. Capcom that have been posted.

There is also guy that goes by "Ktrain" on the KLOV boards that is looking at selling some of his cabs. He has a few cocktails too.

I have a cab or two that I am willing to trade. They have all been cleaned up (touch up paint, coin doors re-painted, cap kits, etc.)

If you know where I can get a Toobin' or Trog I'll be willing share more info.

BTW.... Nickelcade in Orem has a bunch of cabs for sale, but they are WAY overpriced and tottally beat up. He wants $400 for a Golden aXe that looks like it has been dropped from a truck. It is missing so many pieces of the cab I couldn't beleive it!

It's under new management so maybe a bunch of us need to go talk to him in person and tell him that we'll buy cabs, but they have to be at least FMV.

There are games in Utah... You just have to spend time finding them. Tell your neighbors that callecting cabs is you new hobby. I bet you find 2 or 3 people that have cabs or that know someone who does. I bought a DK Jr. in near mint condition from a neighbor. I also work with a family that used to own Trafalga, but getting them to part with their games is taking alot of time.

KTraiain picked up 2 cocktails (bootlegs) from the D. I. in Provo for $30 each. That was a year ago though.

Good Luck in your search!

Wow.  This post suddenly exploded.  ;D  Looks like there are a lot more BYOACers in UT than I thought.

I'm up around the Clearfield area.  I'm thinking about doing my own cab and I'm just starting to get stuff together.   I was trying to find anywhere around here to get parts possibly cheaper than online (because of shipping) and I'm finding that it's going to be a lost cause.  Guess I will just get parts from PonyBoy and Happ the other other regular places.

The thing I would really like to find is a nice largish arcade monitor around here to avoid shipping.  Then the next point would be to convince the wife that it's money well spent.  ;D

I'm thinking about starting a large 4 player cab based on the Lusid cabs and have it be a "do it all" type of machine that does Mame, DDR, and jukebox.
