Too bad you can't get the Invader to hold up a bottle of Smirnoff for a quick picture.  That would be the icing on the cake. :)

Looks good.  I personally love the background of your influence.

Maybe post a pic of your marquee and CPO together so we can see both in one place.

Pic of CP & cabinet will be orange with black t-molding.

Another slight variation of my design.

Also worth noting the black edge that can be seen is my calculation of where the marquee retainer will cease. In reality I have been a little conservative and feel slightly more of the image may be visible.

Just for giggles (because you probably have nothing better to do).... :)

How about posting a pic of the marquee with the 'Last Stand" wording in the same orange that is on your CPO.  Only because your CPO has mostly Black/orange/red, with only a little bit of yellow.

I realize keeping the wording yellow keeps more true to the original poster, but if theres a chance it might fit better on your cab, might be worth a look.

Also, should the word "Invaders" have an apostraphe in it?  Is it possesive as in "The Invader's Last Stand"  or "The Invaders' Last Stand".

Personally I hate adding apostraphes to wording that is showing impact, but sometimes its necessary.

Tried it with the orange and gave it a white border. Not convinced this is an overall improvement but I will give it some time.....

I like it.  But it's not my cab, of course.

But all colors aside, you're still doing a great job on this project!

Still playing around trying to get exactly what I am after. I went back to the yellow theme writing but there is a little more orange in the pic now to help it flow with the cabinet colour.

I like the marching invaders in the background from the last marquee but prefer the  breaking up thing in the middle from the first. The last one looks too busy.

Looking good though.

Never heard of Cold Chisel before - did a quick search on google and they've been about since the early 70's so maybe us Brits need to listen to more world music ? :)

Now, this is just personal, and my opinion.  You may feel I am more full of crap than at any other time in the past.  I'm also good with that opinion ;)

"Invaders" needs to be in a different font.  (it looks blocky and out of place - the poster ALSO looks the same way)

"Invaders" also needs to be a tad larger (it seems out of scale)

The orange type looked better on that background

The new "explosion" adds a lot, making it a keeper in my mind

Hmmm....

I really dig the yellow writing, not because it looks particularly better than any other colour but because it is matches the Cold Chisel theme where it originated.

However, I have taken on all comments and will keep messing with the image.

Cheers.

If you keep trying different looks eventually i gurantee you will end up going back to the original design.

Personally i think they are all good.  Even if your not 100% happy im sure once its printed and up in lights you will have no complaints!

Good Luck.

So you're saying go ahead, print up something you aren't happy with, perhaps throwing away a nice chunk of change in the process?  If HE isn't happy with it, HIS complaints will matter the most!

Bones, the orange "Invaders" is a keeper!  How about "Last Stand" in red?  Something about it....I'm wondering if perhaps it's a tad too large and that's why it looks "off" to me...dunno, but see if those things work better or if they suck beyond belief.  Perhaps a smaller "tear"?  I just can't put my finger on it yet

Forgive the ignorance but... what game are these invaders from?  Space invaders (doubting it...)  Anyway if they are from a game with a logo, have you tried using the same font as on the original game art?  I dunno if I like the curvy Invaders font along with everything else, it doesn't fit somehow...

Yes, they are from the original artwork for Space Invaders.

Found myself dropping "Invaders" altogether and returning to a much simpler design. Frankly I am liking this more. I think it has more impact and is less confusing.

Cabinet has not been officially named yet and I could live with the title "Last Stand".

I think the first and last ones are the Disco...

I started to like the crazy background but at first it was too much too look at. Arcade art never really had TOO much going on. I think the first and last designs hold truest to the scene. And to you inspiration!

I agree.

It really was a case of the more detail I added the less impact my image had. I have come to the conclusion that simple bold marquee art is the way to go which is probably what the game manufacturers worked out 20 years ago......

Man i reckon its a good idea, just make it less obvious, use the same stars as the rest of the background and blend it in, that way all your mates will still pick it while not having to worry about being a nancy.
