They should develop a MAME for the Ipod. IMAME

It'd be pretty useless without controls.

I really like the Ipods, although I think they are a bit expensive.  I bought a Dell DJ 2 years ago now and I love the damn thing.  And I got it for almost half of what the Ipod was selling for.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

They have Linux running on an Ipod, maybe you can get a linux version of MAME running on there.

I believe podcasting is going to become the death of satellite radio....I've already spent just as much on an mp3 player as XM's MyFi, and I don't EVER have to worry about not receiving a signal!

Here's a tip for ya too.  Go to Wal-Mart and pick up Belkin's FM transmitter.  Now you can listen to it in your car and not have to worry about having wires dangling all over your dash or catching on something.  I have earmuffs (hearing protection from loud noises keep me from going deaf in a week ::) ) with a radio in them, and I just tune in the station and throw the mp3 player and transmitter in my pocket.  VOILA!  No wires to get in my way while I'm working!  I bet a cheap pair of radio headphones from Wal-Mart would sound just as good as the lame ear buds they include on all these things too, without the cumbersome wires.

Get me a bluetooth mp3 player and bluetooth headset, and I'm first in line to pick 'em up when they go on sale.

I have an iRiver H320.  I love it.  You can skin the firmware, and by flashing to the Korean version of the firmware, you can play videos on it, too.  It's bad@$$.

That works fine if you live in an area with no radio stations.  However, around here (Richmond, VA), the spectrum is pretty well saturated, so reception on those FM transmitters is terrible.  You can't drive from the north side to the south side of the city without having to change which frequency you're broadcasting on.

88.1 88.3 88.5 88.7

If you've got stuff on EVERY one of those channels, then you really ARE saturated, but I HIGHLY doubt you won't be able to lock in one of those stations.  To boot, I've got 3 of those stations taken when I drive a touch out of my "home range", and it simply overrides them due to low signal strength.  I didn't even know before opening it that there was a selection of channels, so to say I'm pleased with the performance is an understatement.  I got a second one for my wife's car since she effed up the tape adaptor for her portable CD player.

I've got the black-ish/gray version, as I don't have an Ipod.  I make absolutely no claims for the Ipod version, but I'd bet it works exactly the same.

There's a new headset on the near horizon, unfortunately named iMuffs.  I desperately hope they are good quality so I can begin lusting after them.  They are styled for the iPod and have a little bluetooth adapter that plugs into the iPod.  But that's not all.  They also pair with a bluetooth phone so when a call comes in you can answer it from your headphones, which will automatically pause whatever was going on your iPod until you're finished with your phone call.

I support the networks for six offices spread out over five counties so spend a lot of time in the car listening to audiobooks mostly.  I currently have some nice in-ear headphones that I love, except it is such a pain to have to pull them out whenever my phone rings and put them back in afterward.
