When you wallpaper the office with them, they cease to have meaning.

You have to use the extra thick sharpie's to write them to yourself now

Or else he's been to the dentist and the gas hasn't worn off yet.  I hate when my dentist has a burrito for lunch

I've got a wall-mounted phone you can beat him with.  It's not a Verizon one though.  See if he'll mind after 3 or 12 good wallops.

The real solution to this one would be STOP HAVING KIDS YOU --cream-filled twinkie--.  If they didn't have so many dumb kids they wouldn't need all these cell phones.

Nah.  Giving your kid a cell phone when these ass hats have no doubt CLEARLY demonstrated in the past they aren't responsible enough to manage one is the problem.  Take Nancy's words to heart, and just say "NO!"

You're thinking of Seph.  He's one of those stank-ass explorers people are always yelling "EUREKA!" about.

That Guinness commercial is just code for "We're getting the message out nationally about Seph's funk".

BRILLIANT!

Holy CRAP.  My wife did the annual preXmas "clean out all the toys that haven't been touched in months" on the kids' rooms.  Lots of toys for 2-3 year olds that we just don't have room to keep around.

So, I offered the big lot up on Freecycle.  I had 5 responses within 10 minutes and 15 within a half hour.  Geesh.  I'm going to have to break up the lot into a bunch of smaller ones since it is a large trash bag full of stuff... guess I should have anticipated this, being right before Xmas and all that.

Still no PM.  If you sent it, it got eaten by the forum, or else I don't know how to check for it.

I still see "0 messages, 0 new" at the top 'o my browser.

I've got a Viewsonic 19" (I think, may be 20") viewable monitor that I want to give away, but the picture is pretty dark. Is it worth offering it to someone, or should I just toss it?

Crack it open and turn up the screen control a hair.

You will find it interesting to notice I gave up on the project 2 years ago, and I have a 2 year old...  I just ran out of energy on this project.

I think you'll find that you didn't run out of energy, rather the energy has been diverted elsewhere.  Funny how that happens.

Whats with the sob stories?--A guy on freecycle here offered up a laptop so naturally i put in I was interested--to the person with the laptop--then all these people start posting general messages about how down on their luck they are, won't everyone else let them have it, blah, blah, blah.  Whenever I read something like that I automatically assume people are trying to manipulate others.

In another instance i put a hand me down sno blower up for grabs--same thing--oh please i have 14 miles of driveway to shovel and only have a wooden leg and dogs chase me when i go outside and....uggghh.  Whenever I have been in a bad way in my life the last thing I do is advertise it to complete strangers--unless they are a therapist, most people don't want to hear your problems...
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

In Atl, one of the groups, "Cobb-Freecycle" has decided no-one from outside Cobb county may be a member or reply to offers.   Claiming high amount of no-shows from other neigboring groups etc. lol

Supposedly ALL Freecycle groups are supposed to verify that any applicant actually lives in the group's coverage area.  It is pretty much impossible to verify, though, so many don't bother trying.

Most groups also shouldn't allow the sob stories through.  Can't do anything about the direct email sob stories, which I get a lot of, but they should be removed from the list if the list is not moderated.

Most people would be shocked at how far the sob stories will go in order to receive certain items.  Laptops are one of the very top if not the top sob story request item.

She said right in her post that she wants to be able to "stuff myself with holiday goodies".

I say she should stuff herself with a broomstick and get bent.

Oh, yeah, so it does.  Didn't read that far.

Wonder if shes ever heard of self control???
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

We are looking for game meat ( venison, rabbit etc)
Not real picky on type but must be fit for human consumption
we live in wind gap and I am willing to pick up from most areas
Thank you and God Bless
Kimberlie

Not only is this one against about 40 rules but if it were in MA people would set up tents and picket your house.

I say she should stuff herself with a broomstick and get bent.

She could probably broadcast that event on the internet and make enough money to buy some new clothes.

re:  Girl Gone Wild (at the buffet) - I notice she's never said a thing (which might get her some replies and/or less "stop eating fat fat fatty" sentiment) about freecycling some of her "thin" clothes when she has some that she'll now fit into.  I mean, she's not claiming she's running around the house *shudder* nekkid, right?

I get the feeling we've seen pics of this chick waiting for a bus somewhere ;D

These people have annoyed me to the point where I block all wanted/needed messages...In Winnipeg I've been getting a lot of this crap lately too.

I've seen some things on Freecycle that would make your hair stand on end.
