PC monitors come up constantly on Freecycle.  Usually around 15-17", but they are one of the more common items.

I did get a 27" presentation monitor from Freecycle... takes raw RGB and every other signal known to man (nonHD) that runs on 15khz... awesome thing.

A grand piano came up on mine today. My wife's piano was destroyed in a house fire last year, so I nearly replied. Sadly, I just cannot see any way possible to fit a grand piano in my house. Too bad it wasn't an upright. I drove the truck to work today. I would have taken the afternoon off to go grab a couple friends and pick the thing up.

I see upright pianos listed all the time, and occasionally a player piano.

How many lists are you subscribed to...?  Try subbing to the surrounding lists too.  Also, don't be afraid to post a wanted.  Someone could easily have one the basement that they are too slacky to actively dispose of but would give it gladly to a person with three guys and a truck.

I'm getting the lists for the three that are within a reasonable driving distance. I may post a wanted and see what comes up.

Wanteds work pretty often for me.  I post a decent amount of them.  Of course, I also post a ton of offers, and being a list owner, people don't get twitchy about me asking for stuff as quickly as they do others.

I'm on like 20 of them, but being an owner, I "am keeping a passive eye on trends from neighboring Freecycle communities."

How do you go about being an owner? I'm on two lists for Tulsa and one for Glenpool (nearby town), but there was none for the town that I live in (near actually), which is quite a lot larger than Glenpool.

I forget what the exact chain of events was... I found one for a local town and then noticed that there is not one for my own town.  If you head over to Freecycle.org you can see all of the lists and such.  It is actually a big, formal organization with more rules and crap than you would believe.

If there isn't one for your town you can probably start one.  They have a formal process you have to follow or you don't get approved and they do have a lawyer who slaps people that use their name without approval.  Getting listed on Freecycle.org is the way you're going to get most of your users anyway.

Ohh, and some guy was looking for a Letter opener. I mean, a LETTER opener!!!!!! Go buy one ya cheap bastard !!!   ;)

I checked out a lady who posted a friggen LAUNDRY LIST of wanted items, and noticed that almost all the stuff she was looking for was stuff that you'd have lying around the house....the specifics she was looking for though, I couldn't friggen believe it.  She was asking for some luggage that I KNOW is some costly stuff...in the $350 for a CARRY-ON bag  :o range!  FTW!  Why not just ask for a friggen Lexus convertible ::)

Just double checked the list of currently available groups. There is in fact not one for my city, so I went ahead and submitted an application.

I prefer the "Start with very little and go downhill from there" method.  You're almost at the bottom of the hill.  Keep it up, and I might have to envision a taller hill.

Still doesn't change your "Go-getter" label.  I now know FAR lazier people than you.  For shame!

It would be very funny if it turned out that the only reason the screen is dark is because the lenses are covered in a layer of dust.
