Whch Mame version first supported x-arcade
(1/1)
DannyH:
Just wondering which was the first Mame version to support x-arcade?

I have been told that v .55 was one of the best to use for older machines but it doesnt support x-arcade and there is no mame32 version for this (I am a gui kinda guy) so was just wondering which one I should go back to so i dont have to spend an eternity reconfiguring Mame to work with my x-arcade
Minwah:
X-Arcade just uses a keyboard encoder, therefore it is supported in *every* version of MAME.  Ever.   :)

I think what you mean is that MAME did not come with a pre-configured X-Arcade control file...it doesn't matter, just map the controls using the Tab menu > Input (general)...or ctrlr file if you know how.

you definitely won't need an eternity to configure it.  Like Minwah said, hit TAB during a game and go to the general settings (not "this game") and configure it once.   Then it'll be that way for every game.

If it takes you two minutes to do, you're taking too long ;)

And JoyMonkey here on the boards has a nice list of older versions of MAME32.  You can thank him for the older version heh.
