Amazing description of the Jap sticks, spiffyshoes

I've also read great comments people have made about the Ultimarc J-sticks which are also a sanwa.

Which sanwa stick is actually used in arcade machines the J-stick or the JLF-TP-8Y?

Next question from me.

Has anyone used the octagonal Sanwa restrictors?

I'm wondering if they would give the stick a more round feel, or will they make the diagonals almost impossible to hit.

I play no fighters at all, so I'm looking at them mostly for scrolling shooters, and don't care for the Seimitsus I have because they are too square for me.

I really like my Wicos for most games, but can't fit them in the new cab without some SERIOUS modifications.

The one that is listed as Round on the pictures looks like it is about 1" deeper than the Sanwa, which I think is about the same depth as the Seimitsus I've got.

I don't know if I've got that kind of room, and would prefer a ball-top, so I guess I'll try the octagaonally restricted Sanwas.
From the sounds of it, they may be the best compromise for me.
