Sorry Santoro, I don't know how to edit a poll.

For my submissions, can you use the steering wheel w/o the 'wrapped' wheel effect?  I feel the un-wrapped wheel is more arcade-like.  I've never seen a 'wrapped' arcade wheel!  I thought the wrapped one looked neat but isn't appropriate for an arcade wheel.

Also, my front design for the token is a 'gauge' not a 'guage' (is that French?)!   8)  Or just call it speedometer.

Thanks

Did I lose control of player 1 guy, or does timstuff get the credit because I based it on his design?

:'(  Where's da luv?   :'(

Ok, I thought my design was innovative, but I see that I'm the only one that thinks so...that's ok...I'll just drown my sorrows in another pitcher of daquiris...sniff...

C'MON!  Check out the arcade wheel & the speedometer combo!  THAT'S COOL!  Ya don't want another token with a big cab on it, do ya?  Ya it's a great design, but we've already got a bunch of those!  Hmmm...let's see - this one has...a cab on it.  That one over there...has a cab on it.  The one in my pocket...has a cab on it... :P

Let's try something different!  NO LIMITS!  RUSH HOUR BABY!  Just think what your friends would say when they see this friggin slammin' token!  You'll have to beat 'em back with a club!  Instant collectors item!  8)

Not to be picky, but I just dont' see what the whole car vibe has to do with BYOAC and/or a MAME machine.  Most people with Mame cabs don't have dedicated wheels and pedals for racing games, and for the most part, people don't build cabs to play racing games... its always classics or fighters or whatever... very rarely do I see someone build an upright cuz they just have to play a racing game.

I like your designs, but don't see where they really fit in.   :)

I thought BYOAC stood for 'Build Your Own Arcade Controls', not 'Build Your Own Arcade Cabinet'!

What?  Never played Pole Position?  Super Sprint?  Turbo?  APB?  Out Run?  Final Lap?  The 'car vibe' is a tribute to these and other classic racers, brudda!  (Maybe the pic below will help...)

I know that racing cabs are rare.  I was just going for different is all.  Next time I'll submit a design with a cab on it!   8)

Of course I play them, and I like them a lot.  Truth be told, I'm a car nut even before a fan of arcade controls, so I really like your designs.  I just don't see them being very popular for the BYOAC crowd, which leans very heavily towards non-driving games.

What's with that angle in the bottom-left of the Joystick Jerk Joystick design?  If it's supposed to be a view of a CP from slightly overhead, then the controls should appear in the middle of the panel, rather than right at the front edge...

The number of levels on the cocktail wouldn't pose a problem.

Also... forgot to disclaim technical mumbo jumbo on my cab design for anyone looking at its levels:

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a shot.

Question's kind of basic.  The illustration of the cab makes it look like a perspective shot of the corner of the CP from above - but the joystick and button are drawn from the side.

Quote
It's not supposed to be a view of a CP from slightly overhead.  It's the view of a cp from "CP eye level" and the angle up at the  bottom left of the inner-circle is the (I presume) monitor/screen glass.

Angle seems kind of low for that...  and what's the vertical line for, then?

I think you're seeing the white area as the control panel.  The black angled area on the left is the angled area where the monitor would be.  The lower black area is the actual control panel seen from the side.  The vertical line just shows the distinction between control panel and monitor/rest of cab.  The joy and buttons are standing up because the view is as if you were staring at the side of the control panel at eye level.

That's how I see it anyway.
