Which LCD panel is reliable and cheapest?
unclet:
I would like to buy a flat panel monitor (maybe a 17") so the depth of my cabinet remains minimal. I am willing to spend at most $150 on a monitor but really have no idea what to be looking for.
Do some work better than others? Are there some better brands out there which are more reliable? Any deals people know about?
Please give me your recommendations..... thanks
PS: Just wanted to mention that I am not really that picky on how the pictures looks as well. I mean it does not need to have superb display capabilities or be incredibly crystal clear image. If the images can be seen nicely as a nice TV would show them, then I would be happy.
Stobe:
I can vouch for the quality of LG flat panels, but they are usually more costly than others.
Best advice is to go to a Best Buy or something, and look at the displays and see which one looks best to you.
Just be careful you don't fall in love with the $500 Sony ones :)

the dells are almost that cheap...if you are willing to buy a pc, get a free upgrade to flat panel, then sell the computer..you would acutally make some money

I'm not sure if you can get a 17" LCD for $150.00, i bought a 17" Liquid Video brand LCD for around $250.00, probably could have found one alittle cheaper but it's been problem free.

Aww, just missed a very good deal on a 19" BenQ at Office Depot for $166 (call store, might still have some left?).
Found it at slickdeals.net or spoofee.com
Otherwise, I personally don't have one yet so I can't comment (were sold out of BenQ here) but I have heard the Dells are actually very nice. --Erich
