can games like Pole Position be played with a spinner? |
| Apollo:
Pole Position works great with a spinner, takes a little work to get the in game settings right but yes it works very well. My favs, Tempest & Arkanoid. |

Spinner games are classic, but there are not many, mainly I think people buy spinners for tempest. So $90 for one game...maybe two.. But it's a hell of a game! A buddy of mine had an entire Tempest arcade unti. So $90 seems cheap in comparison! ;) I just installed my 2 49-way joysticks, and most of my 52 buttons. I still have the spinner, trackball, molding, monitor, etc. to buy... Ouch $$$ |

isn't there some way to build your own? |

Heres some Fav's Tempest Mad Planets Star Trek Super Sprint Champoinship Sprint Tac Scan Cosmis chasms Arkanoid Pole Postion I & II Tron Two Tigers Major Havok * Others Ive found... Discs of Tron Aztarac Off The Wall American Speedway Block Block Kick Cameltry Wheel Of Fortune lol Badlands Indy Heat Ghox Goindol Kozmik Kroozer Omega Race Riddle of Pythagoras Zektor APB Boxing Bugs Dark Planet Moon War Blasteroids Firetruck Night Driver Off The Wall Zwackery Super Off Road Touchdown Feaver Many driving games that used a wheel, used an optical wheel that spins freely 360 degrees. Same as a spinner, so spinners work great for these. The added weight of the wheel, leverage, and even sometimes the gearing used - does work a bit better than just a spinner though. A little more fun and control with a real optical steering wheel assembly. Also note, that some spinner games need trigger sticks - such as tron, and mad planets. |
