Playchoice 10 issues
« on: June 29, 2005, 04:35:04 pm »
I have a Playchoice 10 that won't seem to completely power on.  The monitor is getting power and the board is getting power.  The monitor is just grey.  Not sure if this is a power supply problem or a board problem.  HELP!!!!

What happens why you coin the game up and try to play it?

I can't even get the machine to a point to play it.  When I power on the cabinet I just get a grey screen.  All the fuses are good and not burned out.  Not sure what the issue is.

Is the gameboard even plugged in?

If so, and there's no loose socketed integrated circuits then you likely have a power supply problem.

Yeah I checked all that out last weekend.  I took it out the PCB board last weekend and then I put the PCB board back into the cage and then re-plugged the board back in to the cage connector then re-connected the cage connector back to it's connector.  Where can I buy another power supply for this cabinet?  I've been asking around and no one seems to have one.  Thanks again for assistance!!!

Nintendo used their own special switching power supplies. No one manufacturers a new plug 'n play replacement. You may have to go to arcadeshop.com and buy a Nintendo to modern switching power supply adapter harness.

I have a Donkey Kong cabaret that will sometimes give me a grey screen. I'm almost certain it's the power supply so that could very well be your problem as well. If you email Todd from tntamusements.com he can sell you an original Nintendo power supply for $20 plus $8 shipping (IIRC). I need to order me one of those someday ;)
