Is there a good traders thread alternative?
monkeybomb:
A discuusion has broken out in the good traders thread that belongs here. To recap some members felt that the thread was way out of hand and really want a number system of some sort. There is an awareness that the solution needs to require minimmum maintenance for the mods. I suggested making rules for the good trades list thread to tighten it up, but there seems to be a focus on a number system.

Here was my suggestion and I'm going to delete the post from the good traders thread.
What if everyone was only allowed one post. They would then edit the post to include every name they have had a succesful transaction with. The comments would not be allowed to exceed the length of the line that has the name. The thread would stay short and to the point and there would be no extra work for the mods.
Like this
Tommy - Great seller, buy from this guy any time.
Gozur - Dude sent my stuff right away.
All in one post.

I think a number next to the members name would be perfect, the problem is how would this update itself evey good trade without the good traders thread(how would we know if it was a good transaction with no place to post it), and without the mods having to be botherd evrytime.
Say a member has 3 good comments for there name by other members, they would have a +3 near there name or something similar.
Goz:
Should probably look into seeing how other forums like NEO-GEO does it. They have a buyer seller trading system that auto updates a # next to the userid. It is different board software, but chances are there is something similar for SMF.

or have someone start a thread and keep a tally. people could pm the thread starter with a + or minus on the seller so it would look like this.
tommy +4
gozur +3
Shape D. -39
ponyboy +289
ect.....
