Will a Jukebox program/Mp3's play on a 133MHZ Win95?
(1/1)
thetered:
Would an old computer with win95 and 133 processor play mp3's and run one of the jukebox programs? Any one know or tried?
D10:
I have an older NEC laptop running win95 OSR2 that is a 133Mhz w/ 48MB RAM. It plays MP3's fine using winamp or Foobar 2000. I did try to test a couple of jukebox programs, but received missing DINPUT.DLL errors. I downloaded dinput.dll and wincab jukebox loaded, but the graphics were way too much for the PcChips display adapter to handle.

 Hope this helps
Chris:
You could install DOS and use DOSCab Jukebox; WinCab may also work if you can get DirectX 7 (DirectX 9 might be too much for it).

Assuming it's for a cabinet and you want to use arade controls, I think that Arcade Jukebox 8 will run on that hardware. I can't remember exactly but I think I ran it on a similar machine under Win98 SE.

Thanks for all your help and input, what I was looking at was an all in one point of purchase system with a touchscreen, but it dawned on me after looking at it again IT DOESNT HAVE A SOUNDCARD! So it probably would have been one of the quietest jukeboxes around!

Ah well, thanks again though!
