got a question about electronic coin mechs.  I've got one in my cab and i'm trying to figure out how it's powered.  i've not traced the wires yet but i will do.  i know it needs 12v - and I believe it gets this via the psu in the back of the cabinet.  can anyone verify this?

eggedd2k:

is the power for the coin mech likely to connect to the jamma connector at all?

Ken Layton:

Electronic coin mechs are made in many voltage requirements. Here are the typical ones:

5 volt dc
6 volt dc
12 volt dc
15 volt dc
24 volt dc
12 volt ac
24 volt ac
48 volt ac
120 volt ac

Suggest contacting your mech's manufacturer (armed with the exact model number and other numbers from it's nameplate) tech support department. If you have a Mars Electronics unit then visit www.meiglobal.com
