IPAQ4 "Player 1 Up" Problem

When you push up on the stick does it report both up and down, what happens when pushing down?
Have you tried removing the up microswitch and actuating it with your finger - what are the results? Do the same for the down microswitch.
Make sure that the wires are always to the NO on the microswitch.

* I'm testing this in the supplied programming utility that comes with the IPAQ (windows build)
* When i push up it reports both up and down & when i push down it reports both up and down
* I'll go try the manual actuating with my finger now
* All wires are connected to NO
thanks guys for the suggestions... i owe you each a beer (or a coke dependant upon age) ;)
Tiger-Heli:
What joystick?
I believe the T-Stick Plus uses the 1st and third terminals for NO and Ground, rather than the 2nd and third - although just wiring it to NC shouldn't cause the reported behavior.
Again, if possible try with just a switch or button connected to 1Up, and/or try with a different joystick.
Weird.
Sloan:
Just wanted to let you guys know I fixed the problem... simply took all the connections out and reseted everything to defaults on the IPAQ Windows interface. At this point things were still not working but when I hit the program button, things worked as they should. I guess there was some discrepancy between the joystick, ipaq and interface software. I probably had confused both it and myself when programming the board incorrectly the first time.
Thanks for the support guys! ;D
