I have the 2 X 2 large square led, I'm going to hack the switch on the motherboard to make a full system power on/off switch two questions... 1. what is the best place for this, i was thinking about above the coin door & below the controller 2. also i assume i will have to run a additional 2 wires to power the bulb in the led switch off of the computer power supply so 4 wires total 2 to motherboard & 2 to power supply thanks |

Just make sure you have the voltage right for the LED and use a resistor if you need one. (I don't know what I'm talking about, but hopefully you do :) ) -sab |

Top of cabinet side on the right near the back. |

Depends on what kind of cabinet you have. A lot of the original cabs have a power button on the back side or bottom to prevent anyone from accidentally turning it off. I built a UAII and used a very unobtrusive switch and mounted it on the side right underneath the upper side panel. Easy to reach and not easy to see. I would think the coin door would work fine as long as you're willing to open and close it a lot. Yes, you need two sets of wires - one to control the switch that goes to your motherboard. One set from a molex or other means to get power to the LED. |
