| Wiring computer output through car amp to cab speakers? |
| (1/1) |
| Dougmeister:
Picked up a cheap car amp. My cab came with four built-in speakers. Have some speaker wire. If I don't care about stereo sound (amp is only mono anyway), how do I hook 'em up? Just get some old headphones, etc. for the 1/8" jack then cut off the earphones on the other end and splice the speaker wires to them? (Then run wire to amp, then to speakers) |

Suggest using a stand alone computer power supply (this is how mine is setup) instead of hooking up to your computer power supply...or power thru other means. Here's a link to Zakk's site over at Massive giving amp install instructions. http://www.mameworld.net/massive/How-to/Amp_Install/amp_install.html ss |
| ShinAce:
For the amount of volume you'll need, I recommend wiring all four speakers in SERIES. |

You don't want to kill your PC (even if temporarily) if you turn up the volume at a party or something. -- Chris |
