Cheap and Easy Driving Wheel/Pedals

Pages: (1/2) > >>

Knievel:

I'm posting this for those looking for a cheap way to add some fun to their driving games.

I purchased a basic Microsoft Sidewinder wheel/pedal combo on eBay and it works great with a number of them. Games like Pole Position 1+2, Turbo, Hang-On, Outrun, Chase HQ, etc. It won't work for games like Super Sprint where you have to spin the wheel all the way around.

There are paddle-switches behind the wheel for switching gears and 6 buttons on the front for extra things like Nitrous. A nice feature is the quick clamp underneath so you can take it on and off in one move. It's also got 3 thick rubber pads underneath it so your CP won't get messed up.

It has just a single USB connection so you can connect and disconnect it anytime,

Chris:

Pole Position 1/2 are 360o wheel games.

Knievel:

I played them both last night, seemed fine. Actually a few of the 360

I actually was just looking at this the other day (I also have that sidewinder wheel).  Unfortunately, the lip on the front of my control panel isn't big enough. :(  Glad to know it works with the games though.

Chris:

My Logitech wheel fits, but I had to build a spacer to protect the trackball when it's mounted.

I usually use the Player 2 joy as a shifter rather than the padle buttons.
