i'm researching coin doors for my cab.
Happ do a couple of over under doors i'm looking at (see links below). Do you really need a dual coin insert on a home cab? any views?

Its all a matter of preference, you dont necessarily need one at all.
It depends what type of cab you are building. I would match the coin door to you cab, i.e a single entry door for a one player cab e.g Pac-Man, a dual entry for a two player cab or a quad entry for a four player cab such as TMNT.
I would deff add one as I think they make the cab that much more authentic.

i think so too. happs pricing is kinda steep especially if you plan only to have your coin door for asthetic reason. maybe you can find one from an older machine and recycle it into your cabinet.

Very few machines had single coin entry, dual coin entry was always the norm, even on single player games. I have only ever owned a scant few single entry games, almost all of which had cabinets manufactured in japan or before 1977.
Also, I second the notion.

My space Invaders cocktail has just one coin slot. Not sure if all Midway cocktails were this way or just SI.
